Summary of report content

Healthwatch Luton conducted a project to understand how the pandemic has affected the residents within Luton, their access to health and social care and their experiences since the covid-19 pandemic began.

The report found that government guidelines and ensuring people were abiding by them were being enforced. Accessing tests was proving increasingly difficult, even when symptomatic. Changes to treatment and care was not always outlined or communicated well with patients so expectations were not met. Access to services such as GPs was still an issue, some retrospectively to earlier during the pandemic. Confusion remains over communications.

No recommendations were made but Healthwatch Luton have outlined that they will be sharing this report with stakeholders.
