Summary of report content

In this short report Healthwatch East Sussex shares the changes the public has helped them deliver during August 2024.

Key concerns addressed include:

Guiding individuals to self-refer for health and social care support, assisting with NHS dental access, and providing information on the NHS Healthcare Travel Cost Scheme for low-income individuals.

They also helped families navigate education and healthcare services, such as the EHCP process, and intervened to ensure clearer messaging around Non-Emergency Patient Transport Services eligibility.

The team worked with NHS Sussex to address concerns about GP appointment limits, referral mechanisms, and the Right-to-Choose process. They advocated for more accessible feedback and complaints procedures within the NHS, aiming to improve patient experiences.
