Summary of report content

Healthwatch Northumberland report on the feedback they received between July and September 2020 about people’s experiences of health and social care.  During this period they received feedback from 27 people.  Over a third shared the experienced of a relative, friend or someone they care for.

Over half of the feedback was about primary care, and over a quarter about the impact of the pandemic on health and social care.

Healthwatch Northumberland also ran online forums during this period.  One was about mental health services, where people reported long waits for services. Others were about the impact of closing a local GP surgery, children and young people’s services, cancer services, carers and a general forum.  The latter covered issues such as shielding, social distancing and infection control measures.
