Summary of report content

Healthwatch Dudley engaged with 166 people about eye health and how they use eye care services via a survey.

People reported being happy with the optician's advice on prescriptions for spectacles, however, a small proportion were not aware that regular eye tests helped with detecting diabetes and high blood pressure. People experienced difficulty accessing diabetic eye screening services. For those who accessed the vision support service, they received equipment, advice and guidance to help them communicate.

No recommendations were made in the report.
