Summary of report content

Healthwatch Rochdale reviewed primary care Patient Participation Groups after receiving feedback from local people that these are not up and running at their GP surgery.  They reaudited all their local practices across the borough during December 2023 and January 2024.

The report sets out results by Primary Care Networks in the borough, in relation to where PPGs are active, where they are due to restart and where there are no plans to restart.

95% of practices had a dedicated PPG page on their website. This had improved since 2022.

28% of practices were difficult to get through to by telephone or email.

Reception staff were not aware of what a PPG is and had limited information to share.

The report contains six recommendations and a response from commissioners.
