Summary of report content

Healthwatch Stoke-on-Trent undertook an enter and view visit to the Maternity Assessment Unit at Royal Stoke University Hospital (RSUH) on 5 March 2020.  They had previously undertaken an Enter and View visit in December 2019 to Wards 205 and 206 of the Maternity Unit and it was noted that some negative comments had been received regarding the Maternity Assessment Unit. They spoke to 6 staff and 4 patients.

 

The report looks at the environment of the Maternity Assessment Unit, operational procedures, multi-team working, staff training, staffing and patient feedback.

 

The report contains 5 recommendations about access to relevant documents and reports for staff to improve relations; improving the comfort and privacy of the visitors’ area and improving the working space and facilities for staff.
