Healthwatch Leeds spoke to 120 people about their experiences during the Coronavirus pandemic.
The report found that 47% of people's wellbeing had been affected, particularly relating to anxiety about catching the virus, managing health conditions, isolation, and work stressors. The majority of people reported that they were kept informed about their GP service changes. There were mixed views about the use of technology to access services. People often felt unsafe in public spaces due to other people's behaviour and a lack of respect for social distancing and mask wearing. Healthwatch Leeds also spoke to a group of Black and minority ethnic women, who reported feeling lonely and anxious. They sometimes find it difficult to understand messages about staying safe because these aren’t always clear and straightforward.
