Healthwatch Sutton conducted a survey with 25 people to gather their experiences of digital prescriptions and remote consultations with their GP practice.
The report found that people reported more positive experiences than negative for getting their prescriptions digitally. These include that it is a simple process, helpful for carers, and a more efficient use of patient and GP time. Remote consultations yielded more mixed responses, using telephone and video calls. For example, people were thankful they didn't have to worry about attending the surgery and parking, and they could get appointments more easily. However, some people felt unable to express themselves over the phone, that they were unsure what to do if the GP was late to call, and advice about how to use the app and downloading the technology.
