Healthwatch Sandwell undertook an Enter and View visit to Lyndon Ward 4, high dependency elderly care cluster ward, at the Sandwell General Hospital on 22 October 2019.  They wanted to explore first-hand with patients about their experiences of the service provided during their stay on Lyndon 4.

The report explores whether the environment of the ward was healthy, including cleanliness, how patients are involved with their care, whether language (including BSL) needs were met, whether the care provided was safe and of high quality; how patients are given information to make decisions about their health and care needs, issues of choice, whether they feel listened to and discharge arrangements.

The report includes 6 recommendations about improving health and safety and discharge issues.  There is no response from the provider.
