Summary of report content

Healthwatch Swindon reports on their activities and feedback received in quarter 4 2019/2020.

They collected 61 pieces of feedback during this quarter (39 less than last quarter due to a decrease in feedback following Covid19 lockdown).  The main themes in the feedback included:

  • negative feedback either regarding the POD services or local pharmacies regarding delivery of prescriptions during this crisis. This has been followed up with the CCG
  • Negative feedback about Great Western Hospital.  Healthwatch Swindon were intending to follow this up by an Enter and View visit, but this plan is currently on hold.
  • Largely negative feedback about Ashington House Surgery about a defunct number on their website and difficulties with online booking system, as well as then getting an appointment which weeks away.

The report sets out the key meetings attended this quarter and engagement undertaken, including a focus group on people with autism spectrum disorder and their experience of hospital treatment and a safeguarding focus group.  The report includes activities to resolve issues identified including improving access to Swindon Health Centre.

During this period Healthwatch Swindon had 6 requests for advocacy information, a significant drop in numbers from the last quarter. The report also looks at volunteering, the new website and key pieces of work for Q1 2020/21.
