Healthwatch Tameside published a snapshot of responses to their coronavirus survey. They received 166 responses in the period from early May to 12 June 2020. The survey was available online and on paper
The survey found that over half of the respondents didn’t think the pandemic had had an effect on their mental health, with the proportion of people who answered ‘no’ to this question growing over time. Most people felt that the pandemic had had an impact on their physical health including an impact on the care they received for those conditions. There were also a few comments about the impact the pandemic had had on social care, including not being able to see relatives and closure of day services.
There was a mixture of comments about new online and telephone services. People who responded to the survey on paper were less likely to be able to access online healthcare services. The survey also asked about people’s experience of using online and telephone services for the first time and about the impact of lockdown on people’s social activities.
There were no recommendations.
