Healthwatch Wiltshire has analysed public feedback received from 1 March to 17 April 2020 about the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on health and social care delivery. They had received 35 pieces of feedback during this period.
The report outlines the feedback they’ve heard about pharmacies, hospitals and other services. People have experienced problems in picking up prescriptions from pharmacies, including having to queue for long times. Those who had hospital appointments or surgery found that these were often cancelled. People have also shared how they have had video or telephone calls instead and these seem to be working well. Other services they heard about include dementia services, dentists, and problems with getting hearing aids and batteries.
The report sets out the action that Healthwatch Wiltshire have taken in response to the pandemic, including providing more information on their website on key areas of concern to the public. They were intending to share this report with the local NHS, council and providers to help them identify where things are working well and services are adapting to meet people’s needs, and to help them identify any gaps.
