Healthwatch Derby undertook an Enter and View visit to 24, St Marks Road on 11 December 2019. This visit was part of Healthwatch Derby’s work around residential and nursing homes in the city, looking at the experiences of the residents, their visitors and the staff.  24 St Marks Road is a purpose built one level property that provides accommodation and person-centred support for persons aged over 18 years with complex needs, autism and challenging behaviour, learning and physical disabilities.

Healthwatch Derby looked at the premises, food, activities, interaction between staff and residents, how residents were encouraged to be independent, health and wellbeing, residents’ involvement in the running of the home and visitors.  They concluded that 24 St Marks Road appeared to be a well-run home with a passionate, dedicated and genuinely caring team.

There were no recommendations made in the report, which also includes a response from the provider.
