Healthwatch Trafford undertook an Enter and View visit to Sunrise of Hale Barns Care Home on 12 November 2019. It is registered to provide accommodation and support for up to 96 older residents some whom are living with dementia. They received 12 completed questionnaires from residents and talked with 12 residents, 1 visitor and 10 members of staff.
From the completed questionnaires and from their observations, Healthwatch Trafford felt that residents were treated with kindness and compassion. The initial impressions on entering the home was one of welcome. Staff were polite and convivial. The home was comfortable and warm, impeccably clean and odour free, and had the appearance and ambience of a hotel. Various information was on display in the public areas of the home for residents and visitors. Most of the staff members had worked at Sunrise for several years, and all staff members stated they were happy at the home and felt fully supported by the management.
