The report outlines the findings of Healthwatch Windsor, Ascot and Maidenhead after an enter and view visit was conducted at the Newton Court Medical Centre on the 20th November 2019. They used observation and surveys to gather peoples experiences of services delivered, comparing their findings with the GP Patient Survey to identify any improvements or changes in the what people said.
By and large the people engaged felt neutral about their experiences, with some positive experiences relayed about communication. The centre was described as needing minor repairs and tidying and more privacy could be provided at the reception desk. People did not use the surgeries website very often and while some seemed to know that there was a Patient Participation Group to engage with the levels of awareness were low. Finally people reported that they did not necessarily get to see a GP of their choosing to ensure continuity of care.
Recommendations were made and a response from the provider was received stating they were working through them and would do what they could to improve.
