Summary of report content

Healthwatch Hartlepool undertook an Enter and View visit to De Bruce Care Home on 19 July 2019.  They spoke to one staff member and 6 residents.

The décor of the home was good and there appeared to be a choice of activities, but there was no activity coordinator in place. Residents had choice over their lifestyles, décor of room and visitors.  Residents were largely negative about the food, but they had choice over where to eat it.  They had assistance if they needed help to eat and drink.  Generally residents felt that staff were respectful and kind.

There were 3 recommendations concerning activities, the need to employ a laundry assistant and the need to repeat the visit.

The report doesn’t contain a response from the provider.
