Summary of report content

Healthwatch Hartlepool undertook an Enter and View visit to Ward 36 at the University Hospital of North Tees on 5 April 2019.  This is a general medical ward.  Healthwatch spoke to 2 staff and 16 patients.

The patients were happy with the quality of care they received and the friendliness of the staff.  They were happy with the catering, felt that the ward was clean, knew how to complain if need be and they felt safe and secure.  Staff had plenty of training opportunities, felt that there was a good mix of staff per shift and shared good practices.

There was only one recommendation on keeping up the good work.  The report includes a response from the provider.
