The 2018/19 Annual Report for Healthwatch Oxfordshire highlights their achievements during the year. 4,279 people shared their health and social care story with Healthwatch Oxfordshire; they had 12 volunteers including Board members helping to carry out our work; 25,198 people accessed Healthwatch advice and information online or contacted them with questions about local support; they visited 124 services and community events to understand people’s experiences of care; 13 improvements to health and care services were made as a result or in part because of their contribution; and 114,900 people engaged with them through social media.
They explored the experiences of care home residents and access to dental care; barriers that men from black and ethnic minority backgrounds face in looking after their health and accessing NHS Health Checks; experiences of daytime support services for adults in Oxfordshire; and a case study about provision of to provide community musculoskeletal services by Healthshare Ltd.
The report also highlights their findings about what services do people want to know about; how best they can provide people with advice and information; enter and view visits they carried out; how did their volunteers help with their work; how they used their allocated budget; and their plans for the next year.
