Summary of report content

Healthwatch Stockton-on-Tees carried out an Enter and View visit to Allington House. This was a follow up after the previous Enter and View visit in 2018, to highlight the improvements that had been put in place since then.

Feedback was gathered directly from residents and staff, and via a survey for relatives and friends of the residents. This feedback and observation by the Enter and View representatives found that a lot of work had been done to improve the service since the previous visit in 2018. Staff were very positive about the home and about the changes that had taken place. They felt motivated and valued and said that they work well as a team. The Healthwatch Stockton-on-Tees team also received some very positive comments from residents and relatives and overall there were high levels of satisfaction with the service being provided.

Based on these findings, Healthwatch Stockton-on-Tees made two recommendations:

  1. Notice boards should be free of “clutter” and only display the most important and up to date information.
  2. Residents should be encouraged to maintain their independence where appropriate and safe to do so. Staff supervision should be provided if necessary. This includes helping out with small tasks around the home.

The report includes a positive response from the service provider.
