Healthwatch Havering carried out an Enter and View visit to Beech Court Care Centre. This was Healthwatch Havering's second visit to the home.
The Enter and View representatives were very impressed by Beech Court Care Centre. They found that the atmosphere was pleasant and everyone, staff and residents, appeared to be one happy family. The team noticed that a bathroom in the home was being used to store a large number of incontinence pads. The manager advised that deliveries by the local authority were made only every three months, that only three pads per 24 hours were allocated to a resident, and that all pads were one size. The Enter and View team considered this to be unsatisfactory and advised that the matter would be pursued with the local authority to see if improvements could be made.
Healthwatch Havering did not find it necessary to make any recommendations as a result of this visit but stated that they would pursue with the local authority improvements to the supply of incontinence pads.
