Healthwatch Sunderland conducted an Enter and View visit on 17th July 2019 to Primrose Care Home which cares for up to 21 adults with Enduring Mental Ill health. They engaged with 14 residents, staff and visitors during the visit.
They found that there was a positive perception of the management in place at the home as well as the staff members that care for the residents. All of the residents agreed that the staff at the home know them, know what they need and what they like and don’t like. There is also a wide range of activities on offer to the residents, including Bingo and walking. There were positive reviews about the food offered at the home and mealtimes are sociable with all residents sitting together in the communal dining room. The residents have access to a range of health services, including chiropody and dentistry. The laundry system is adequate and the residents feel they are well taken care of. Residents reported not being asked if they are happy with the care at the home, but the management hold regular team meetings to discuss any complaints or issues that have arisen.
