Healthwatch Wiltshire reported on their activities during April – June 2019. These included: gathering 315 people’s experiences of local services; publishing five reports; announcing the winners of their Community Cash Fund; listening to 340 views as part of the ‘What would you do?’ campaign; and launching a survey to gather people’s experiences of the safeguarding process. Healthwatch Wiltshire spoke to 748 people through various events, meetings and forums. The services people talked about most were GPs, dentists and hospital care – positive feedback centred around staff attitudes and the quality of care or treatment, whereas negative comments focused on waiting times for GPs, accessing dentist appointments, and communication and waiting times in hospital services. Healthwatch Wiltshire also carried out a survey to gather information about people’s experiences of local dementia friendly initiatives.
Healthwatch Wiltshire outlined their priority areas for 2019/20: mental health, general practice and adult social care.
