Summary of report content

The Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) Improvement and Assessment Framework identified that in Bradford District, 18% of pregnant women continue to smoke during their pregnancy, compared to a national average of 12%.

The objectives for this project were to: Identify the key reasons pregnant women who smoke are not accessing existing services; Identify the key barriers to stopping smoking for pregnant women; Identify new ways to educate target groups around smoking in pregnancy and the impact of passive smoking.

The key findings of this report focused on: Attitudes towards smoking; Barriers to stopping; What would help women stop?
