Summary of report content

Healthwatch Wakefield conducted an announced Enter and View visit. This is a way of ensuring that all services delivered are acceptable and the welfare of the resident, patient or other service-user is not compromised in any way.

Healthwatch Wakefield visited Monument House, on 20/03/2018.

The summary of findings highlighted areas in relation to patient feedback, staff feedback and observation. A number of issues were raised by patients which is documented in the report; Standard of care, known estimated discharge dates, food/food times, Chiropodist, door locks and codes, fire exit upstairs/contractors and building supplies.

The recommendations within the report informs staff to investigate the provision of chiropodist services for patients. Staff to liaise with the workmen in order to make them aware of their liabilities under Health and Safety legislation. It is suggested that consideration should be given to changing the code on the room where medication is kept so that only ‘approved professionals’ have access.
