This is an Enter and View report by Healthwatch Milton Keynes.
This was an announced visit. Healthwatch Milton Keynes visited the care home and spoke to 9 residents and 4 family members with the aim of understanding how people were cared for.
There were recommendations in the report.
- If support with activities or for residents living with dementia, would be helpful, there are a number of local memory clubs who would be happy to have a discussion about what they could offer to enhance your Home’s current programmes.
- Explore ways of improving the lighting in the corridors on the ground floor, this could have a positive effect on both staff and residents if lighting levels were able to be improved.
- Consider ways of alleviating isolation for those residents that have difficulty leaving their rooms, perhaps more one to one time with care staff, more time in group situations, enlist the help of volunteer groups such as befriending services to sit and talk with residents.
There are follow up actions in the report. The provider has given a response detailing these.
