Summary of report content

Healthwatch Rutland undertook an announced Enter and View visit to Rutland Memorial Hospital on 27 February 2015.  They wanted to find out how patients were informed and involved in their treatment.

Most patients they talked to were very positive about their relationships with staff. The apparent difficulties with the patient transport service can make discharge upsetting for some patients and requires further investigation.

Patients felt that staff listened to them and most patients understood and appreciated the steps being taken to return them to the community. Wall mounted TV sets could be noisy and disturbed some patients. Healthwatch heard many compliments from patients about the quality of their care.

The report contains 5 recommendations and a service provider response.
