Summary of report content

Healthwatch Surrey undertook engagement with children and young people. In August 2023, they heard from 15 people.

Key findings:

  • Young people valued the importance of support they received from community groups which provide a physical space to socialise and find people to connect with
  • Young people value being listened to appreciate when organisations and services provide support which is tailored to their needs
  • Trust is an important factor in determining who young people feel happy to speak to
  • Young people like to look up information themselves through technology such as smartphones or tablets
