Summary of report content

This report details Young Healthwatch East Sussex's (YHWES) research on local young people in foster care's experiences of Review Health Assessments. This work was commissioned by East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust (ESHT).

19 people responded to their online survey, which was co-designed by both YHWES and ESHT. They found that it is important to young people in care to be in control of who is involved in their Review Health Assessment and where the assessment takes place; young people in care want to feel respected, listened to and empathised with by their nurse; and more could be done to inform young people in care of the reasoning behind the Review Health Assessments and their right to decline to be assessed.
