Summary of report content

In July 2016 local Manchester Healthwatch helped run three workshops in Stockport, Oldham and Bolton, the workshops were attended by 60 people representing the diverse population of Manchester.

Healthwatch spoke to the people of Greater Manchester to find out how future services can meet their health and social care needs. The discussions focused on three topics: service integration, primary care services, and preventative health.

Under service integration there were 8 clear themes that emerged including areas like the need for greater consistency and stronger links between health and social care services

Under primary care services there were 5 clear themes that emerged including areas like prescriptions and the need to make them accessible with an improved process.

Under preventative services there were 5 clear themes that emerged including areas like better lifestyle education for communities and better links with organisations offering activities which supported healthy lifestyle options.

The report contains the findings from the workshops but no recorded input from providers or commissioners.
