Healthwatch Cheshire East conducted an Enter and View visit on 15 August 2022 at Clayton Manor Care Home.
Clayton Manor has capacity to care for 75 residents who have dementia, a physical disability, or older adults.
The home is well signposted, and the building is in good condition. Some areas of the grounds could use more maintenance work. There is a high standard of cleanliness throughout the building and the communal areas are well furnished, including gardens with areas for the residents to sit.
Residents are given two choices for their meal, and most eat in the dining room. Relatives can sit with the residents if they are visiting during a meal. There are a range of activities planned throughout each week and the activities coordinator visits each resident at the beginning of each week to see what they would like to take part in. They make sure to spend time with each resident that do not want to participate in any planned activities.
Residents and relative spoke positively of the home and the staff, with relatives noting that the only improvement would be more staff. The report concluded with minor recommendations such as improving some furnishings and decorations and maintaining outdoor areas.
