Healthwatch Shropshire conducted an Enter and view visit at Hillcrest Manor on 25 July 2022. They spoke to five residents during their visit.
Hillcrest Manor had 38 residents at the time of their visit, the majority who have dementia. There are no longer any visiting restrictions that were in place due to Covid 19, however the home is in a rural location that take a bit of travel to get to. There have been difficulties with staff retention due to pay and cost of travel to the home. The Manager is creating solutions to improve retention and recruitment.
The residents were positive about the care they receive in the home and said the staff are very good. The home was in good condition and appeared clean. Staff were positively engaging with residents in activities.
There was a board with pictures telling staff and residents about activities taking place each day.
The report concluded without any recommendations for the home, and the report was shared with the staff at Hillcrest Manor.
