Bradbury Court is purpose built as a Residential Care Home and opened in August 2015. It is registered for up to four adults aged 18 – 65 with complex needs.

The visit requested by Shropshire Council was to understand the experiences of residents, their families and the staff. The visit was semi-announced.

Healthwatch representatives toured the facilities and met with the Manager, one senior care worker, three care workers, a positive behaviour support assistant and one resident.

The report provides a summary of findings which includes the advantages and disadvantages of the building and considers staff rotas and support and training for staff. There is information about keys things that affect the residents, their families and friends in terms of resident’s quality of life including choice in social activities, daily routine, meals and personal space as well as dignity and respect, access to healthcare and advocacy.

The Service Provider responded to say they had begun a planned redecoration to help make the home more homely. They were pleased that the quality of the support provided by the team at Bradbury Court was recognised during the visit.
