This report is by the Healthwatch Humber Network, a group comprised of Healthwatch North Lincolnshire, Healthwatch North East Lincolnshire, Healthwatch Kingston upon Hull and Healthwatch East Riding of Yorkshire.
Westdene Residential Care home is an independently run home in Hull. It is registered to provide residential care services to individuals over the age of 65 and individuals living with dementia. It has 29 rooms.
The Healthwatch Humber Network undertook a virtual engagement with the home, starting on 8 March 2021. In total, 15 people completed the survey, including the Registered Manager, nine staff members, three friends and family members and two residents.
The report has several recommendations on how to improve the home’s website. It also finds that residents were not aware that they had a keyworker. The report recommends placing a picture and the name of the resident’s keyworker in their room, and to prompt the resident from time to time to remind them.
