HWB gave five stars for ‘how people are treated’. Observing in depth interactions with residents and reword sentences to confirm they had understood a resident’s point of view. Staff also asked residents’ opinions or permission rather than making assumptions.
HWB gave five stars also for ‘personal choice’. Residents were taking part in different activities on the day of the visit and staff confirmed that they were given the opportunity to help plan meals with picture cards. Residents were given a choice of two options as to where they wanted to be, so it was clear they did want the chosen option.
