Healthwatch Surrey undertook engagement with people who had survived a stroke and their carers to inform the Integrated Stroke Delivery Network.

Key findings:

  • People valued the importance of support they received from community groups while recovering and adjusting to life after strokes
  • People had problems with the accessibility of services after a stroke
  • There isn’t always support for carers
  • People have also shared that a lack of finances impacts on the support they receive
