A series of neighbourhood workshops held in Bolton on the topic of Transport relating to public transport routes, ring and ride, community transport schemes, transport providers and routes and other related issues. 34 comments included in report. The Neighbourhood workshops produced a lot of learning which
is contained within the Neighbourhood Engagement Report. Across the Borough the subject of transport was often cited as a barrier to staying well.
Main findings:
• Limited services in parts of Borough
• Routes often do not include access to GP surgeries and A+E departments
• Poor local coverage so a reliance on own vehicle
• Timetabling of some bus routes i.e., early finish for last bus
• Cost of fares
• Lack of community transport and access for residents
• Isolation of disabled residents who are unable to access transport including taxi services
• Poor conditions of road and coverage of routes.
