In November 2017, Healthwatch North East Lincolnshire carried out an Enter and View visit to 22 Abbey Drive West in Grimsby, a care home provided by Linkage Community Trust Ltd catering to young adults with learning disabilities. At the time of the visit, there were three residents living at the Home and only one resident present during the visit.
The purpose of the visit was to engage with service users to hear about their experiences and suggestions for the Home, to observe the provision of care and quality of interactions, and to hear from residents whether they feel treated with dignity and respect.
Two authorised representatives visited the premises and explored the following areas in their observations: food and drink, safeguarding, staffing, personal care and medication.
The report recommends that the provider ensures office areas are always locked, and requests that the provider clarify their position on staffing levels. A response from the provider is contained within the report and addresses the issues highlighted by Healthwatch.
