Summary of report content

Healthwatch Norfolk conducted an Enter and View visit to Glendon House, a privately owned residential/ dementia care home with 31 residents, on 30 January 2018.

The Enter and View Authorised Representatives observed residents participating in a ball and parachute game during the visit and noted that there were a good range of activities offered on a daily basis. Staff told the visiting team that there were also activities designed for those residents who preferred to remain in their rooms.

Food was freshly prepared on site with a picture menu displayed to enable residents to choose their meals and drinks were available and readily provided throughout the day.

The report notes that residents can access a secure paved courtyard freely as they wish.

Healthwatch Norfolk made three recommendations, one of which was to complete the re-design of a small lounge into a room for the male residents.

The manager responded positively to the report and noted that the Men's Den had been completed, with a fully functioning pool table and dart board, and is proving to be a very popular addition to the care home.
