Summary of report content

Healthwatch Bristol attended the Carers Rights day event organised and hosted by the Carers Support Centre to speak to attendees about the Healthwatch Bristol emotional health and wellbeing project and other carers support and advocacy services.

Healthwatch Bristol shared their Health and Wellbeing survey with attendees to gather insight to inform the development of services and provide content for an overall report to be published in May 2018.

The 12 people spoken to at the event shared their experiences of the various carers support groups they attended, and of their experiences of social prescribing. The attendees also expressed their appreciation for the event and the information they had received about services available.

The report highlights the importance of community and support groups and the need for support, advice and guidance from peers and professionals in meeting the needs of carers.
