Summary of report content

Healthwatch Barnet conducted an announced Enter and View visit to The Limes, a privately owned 26 bed Residential Care Home, as part of a planned programme of work on 4 September 2013.

The Enter and View Authorised Representatives noted that the homely feel was accentuated by the policy that allows residents to keep pets. The visiting team also noted that residents were happy and well cared for by staff who reported being well trained and supported by management. The diverse backgrounds of the residents was catered for in a menu that catered for Halal, Kosher, vegetarian, gluten

free and other special requirements and the residents felt culturally well supported.

Bedrooms were small but well maintained and comfortable with photos and personal mementoes evident.

The Authorised Representatives noted that staff did not wear name badges, and that gaining entry into the Home was perhaps too easy and these observations made up two of the six recommendations contained in the report.

The provider responded very positively to the report and had either already addressed the recommendations by the time they responded, or else outlined the planned action and the estimated timeline to implement this.
