Summary of report content

Healthwatch Devon conducted an announced Enter and View visit to Dawn Residential Care Home on 28 April 2015. The team conducted interviews with 11 residents as well as the owner. The team also spoke to a relative. Residents were asked about the care they received and how they find living in the home using survey methods and the team also made general observations during the visit.

The residents indicated that they were very happy with the standard of care provided at the home. The team noted that the home had a welcoming environment and there was evidence of a variety of social activities being made available to the residents.

The report made one recommendation to enable access to the internet in the residents’ rooms.

A response from the service provider was included in the report. The service provider agreed to investigate the issue of internet access and ensure residents were aware of the mobile laptops that were available for their use.
