Healthwatch Cheshire West conducted an Enter and View visit to Wealstone Care Home on the 14th of September 2015. The team spoke to residents and staff, and made general observations during their visit.
The report noted that the home was clean and comfortable. The residents told the team that the staff were respectful and caring, and indicated that they were happy with the care they received. The team identified several areas that could be improved. Residents indicated that they were not happy with the activities available to them, and would appreciate opportunities to engage in activities that they were interested in. The team observed that there were not any temperature gauges available in the bathrooms.
The report made a number of recommendations. Three of the recommendations were regarding the activities on offer for residents. The team also recommended that temperature gauges be provided in all bathroom facilities to make them safer for residents.
The report included a response from the provider.
