Healthwatch Warwickshire did an announced Enter and View visit to Harbury Surgery on 5th November 2015. The surgery is in a purpose-built building in good condition with a small car park with approximately 10 spaces.
The Healthwatch Enter and View team found the surgery met all their observation criteria. There were a few good practice examples such as GPs personally collecting the patients from the waiting area, and the toilets were in an excellent condition. Good privacy available at reception and a friends and family test and suggestions box available.
The questionnaire asked the patients attending the surgery about appointments, access, parking, signage, staff attitudes, cleanliness and the quality of care amongst other things. Overall, the surgery scored very highly and is providing excellent services, with most patients extremely satisfied. The PPG is currently formalising its structure and is very engaged with the practice.
“Been coming here for 37 years and never had a problem. Couldn’t want for a nicer practice.”
A few recommendations for some possible improvement include:
• The surgery considers providing more information about strategic plans in response to the expansion of local housing and population.
• The surgery provides a good number of notice boards.
• The surgery looks into creating more privacy at the reception in Bishops Itchington.
The surgery provided a response only about the privacy at reception comment.
