Healthwatch Blackpool consulted with 100 patients about their views on the quality and accessibility of local dentist services. Patients were consulted between 1st and 31st August 2015 using an online survey. The team also reviewed dentist’s websites to inform this report. The aim of the consultation was to find out the reasons patients chose their practice, the ease to get an appointment, whether the cost of treatment was prohibitive in accessing treatment, and how well patients were treated by the practice.
Overall, patients were happy with the service they receive at their practice. Most people could get an appointment at a time that was convenient to them and found that the practice accommodated their physical and emotional needs. The cost of treatment was found to not be a deterrent for patients having routine or essential treatment, however, some reported that the costs are too high.
The report did not include recommendations from Healthwatch Blackpool and did not include a response from the service provider.
