Download (PDF 950.37 KB)Summary of report content
This report was created by six local Healthwatch to look at experiences and feedback from the public to help shape the Humber Coast and
Vale Sustainability and Transformation Plan (HCV STP).
It introduces local Healthwatch and their purpose, and uses feedback to explain what people are saying they are unhappy about, for example: Issues accessing GP appointments, problems with the various mental health services in the area and lack of NHS dentists.
It also explains what the feedback suggests is going well, for example: Timely support/interventions, good general practice and caring staff.
Four main topics were identified as something that would make people happier if they were done differently. These were:
Better communication and involvement
Continuity and joined up services
Easier to access GPs
Better transport links
Engagement that has been undertaken by the six local Healthwatch around the STP is detailed at many different services and locations,
The conclusion of the report states "Over the past 12 months, Healthwatch in the Humber, Coast and Vale footprint have
interacted with an estimated 20,000 members of the public in a wide variety of ways. As a result, we have a wealth of information collectively about the views and experiences of people living within this area in relation to the provision of health and care services.
We hope that the information contained in this report will be fed into the STP planning process to ensure the voices of patients and the public in Humber, Coast and Vale are reflected in the drafting of the plan. We have produced this report to provide a helpful starting point for further public engagement, which will be essential throughout the whole planning process. Local Healthwatch are well-placed and willing to be partners in this process to ensure genuine public engagement is at the heart of future health and care planning for our area and look forward to working in partnership with the STP team to ensure that local voices are at the forefront when it comes to planning future health and care services."
