Download (PDF 4.9 MB)Summary of report content
This report was written by Healthwatch Cambridgeshire following feedback from local residents on the topic of wheelchair services.
The report was published August, 2016 with a set of survey work being completed. A total of 65 responses were gathered through the involement of local groups.
Overall sentiment was negative, many people found there to be a lack of information about what was available and how to update a chair once someone had one for some time. Some people were unhappy with the chair they were given. The time to wait for a chair was also felt to be too long by some respondents.
A set of recommendations is included in the report. No response from related providers is attached.
Summary of recommendations:
- The wheelchair service sets and meets clear response times
- Coordination between different parts of the service must improve
- The service is responsive to the individual needs of wheelchair users
