Healthwatch Warwickshire conducted an enter and view visit on Dr Ganapathi's GP surgery in Nuneaton on the 12th September 2016.
The surgery has one GP and one practice nurse and serves 2120 patients.
Observations from the visit mention that the surgery is a converted house on a main road. The premises are shared by two surgeries with two waiting areas open to each other and separate nurse and reception staff. They noted that the surgery was clean and tidy but is in need of redecoration as paintwork on walls is damaged and seats are repaired with tape.
Eight people completed a questionnaire giving their views and rating areas as either poor, average, good or excellent.
Comments from patients included:
“Doctors excellent – the other bits are a bit mixed.”
“Have waited 45 minutes but appreciate the time the doctor spends with his patients.”
“Well mannered you get a friendly welcome here.”
The report makes two recommendations:
- The surgery consider redecorating the waiting room and improving the seating available for patients.
- The surgery look at improving the advertising of the online booking system in order that more patients can access this.
The report contains a response from the provider.
