Healthwatch Calderdale undertook an Enter and View visit of Manor House Residential Home on 28 August 2015. During the visit they spoke to 5 residents, 2 relatives, 3 managers, 2 junior members of staff and 2 visiting professionals.
The residents and their environment looked clean, tidy and pleasant. Most residents had various degrees of dementia, but were mobile, with the help of zimmer frames, walking sticks and wheelchairs, supported by staff. There was evidence of good interaction between staff and residents and all were complimentary about the service and service-providers. There was also evidence of a variety of social activities, such as hairdressing, handicrafts, group singing and clinical chiropody service. Catering and group activities are mainly structured but there is also individual personalised care.
