Summary of report content

Healthwatch Cambridgeshire and Healthwatch Peterborough investigated people's experiences of healthcare services in relation to the NHS Long Term Plan (LTP). They collected feedback from 757 survey responses, 43 focus group attendees and 1,100 pieces of feedback from the past year.

The report found that people wanted quicker access to primary care services. Self-help and information to stay well were said to be required. Respondents reported that information is often displayed in different places and it is difficult to access. Carers experience additional responsibilities with caring for others, and often have to coordinate care and chase services for information. Care can seem to be service-centred rather than person-centred, whereby services are not joined up. People want to be seen and treated holistically. Travel and transport difficulties continue to be barriers to effective health care.

The STP has responded to this report.
