Summary of report content

Healthwatch Shropshire conducted an Enter and View visit to the The Uplands at Oxon Nursing Home on the 5th June 2019.

Their observations focused on the following areas: the home environment, how the home provides person centred care, and the support available to staff.

They found the home had a calm and welcoming atmosphere, and was Dementia friendly thorough out. Relatives and temporary residents made positive comments about the home.

Healthwatch provided two recommendations: to review the training for all staff, to ensure that all staff receive Dementia training, and to review storage for equipment and wheelchairs, so that a bathroom is not used for this.

This report contains a service provider response.
